Year 5 visit to St Paul's Cathedral

St Paul’s Cathedral was very exciting! It was an amazing view from the Stone Gallery; we could see the Shard and many other monuments and famous buildings. We were happy that we got to St Paul’s Cathedral because we saw real statues that had been burned black by the Great Fire of London. Some of us dressed up as famous people from the past- Samuel Pepys, King Charles II and the Lord Mayor of London. Some others acted as firefighters. We also got to smell gunpowder- it smelt very strong. Before St Paul’s, we walked to Pudding Lane and the Monument. On the way, we saw stone seats that had ‘Fire, Fire’ written on them. The Great Fire was a major event in British history because there has never been a fire as big as that and it was amazing that it killed so few people. The trip was excellent.
