Year 4's outing to the Roald Dahl Museum

Year 4 shared their thoughts on their outing to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden:

Yesterday at the Roald Dahl Museum we learnt about Roald Dahl's childhood and how he got inspiration for some of his characters. I enjoyed when we got to design our own characters cutting hair and mouths.  Ralph, 4BE

I learned that Roald Dahl’s favourite character was The BFG and he used one of his best friends as inspiration for the character.  Frankie, 4KF

I didn’t know Roald Dahl worked in the RAF!  Grace, 4KF

We created a character, we made a mini movie and recorded our voices to hear the different sounds they could make. We learnt that Roald Dahl crashed a plane in WW2 which left him with a big bump on his back. So he could sit in his chair and write stories he cut a big hole in the chair where the bump could pop out.  Sean, 4BE

I saw the hut where he wrote his stories; his friend built it for him!  Leon, 4KF

At the Roald Dahl museum, we were exploring his childhood and doing entertaining activities. We learnt about his childhood and what inspired him to write his stories. Olivia 4BE

Yesterday we walked to the church where we learnt about Roald Dahl and saw his grave. In the museum I learnt that Roald Dahl was a cheeky child.  Xavier, 4BE
