Pride of England
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery. After a tour of the manor from Lizzi Wall, we visited the ‘Pride of England’ exhibition, which features Ealing’s Bukayo Saka (our former pupil) and Chloe Kelly. We were delighted to meet the artist, Matt Small.

The England football badge features three lions. Central to the exhibition are England’s Three Lions: sculptures co-created by Matt with young people in Ealing; these accompanied the England Men’s Football Team to Germany for EURO 2024.

Matt told us that a group of lions is called a ‘pride’; his exhibition promotes a deep sense of identity and pride. We were inspired by his work! In our workshop with Matt, we created self-portraits, celebrating what we are most proud of about ourselves.
