What a week it’s been! I will certainly be sad to see my new friends go, but I know they are looking forward to seeing you all again.

We began the morning (after a very early start in order to triple-check the rooms and determine whose socks were still under the bed) by singing happy birthday to two more of our fabulous pupils! It’s certainly been a busy week for birthdays - and what a wonderful way to spend them!

Soon afterwards, we set off on the long and (very) winding road to the Needles for our boat cruise. The sun has been shining on us all week - and today was certainly no different. It was a beautiful morning to marvel at the multicoloured sand and admire the historic rock formation down at Alum Bay.

As I write to you, Year 6 are waiting very patiently in the ferry terminal, reflecting on their favourite activities from the week and thinking about all of the things that they are thankful for. It has been three years since pupils from Edward Betham were able to visit the Isle of Wight, and this year group has represented the school brilliantly; I truly couldn’t have asked for a better group of pupils to explore the island with. I have enjoyed it so much that I’ve included a few additional photos from the week, to help me to reminisce about the incredible adventures we’ve had.
