Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall

Year 4 visited Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall as part of their topic How did the first 5 Sikh Gurus shape Sikhi?

First we went to the Gurdwara and took our shoes off and washed our hands. Next we heard the prayers. Then we were talking about the Sikh religion and hearing about Guru Nanak. Then we tried some of their food. I learnt that Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism. Olivia

I learnt that being equal is a main part of the Sikh faith.  I found the food interesting. My favourite part was when we went to the prayer hall and listened to them pray. Chloe

On my trip to the Gurdwara I learnt how Sikhs sit down on carpets instead of sitting on chairs. Pierre

I learnt that Sikhs have a special orange sweet. The interesting part was that they have swords. Arber

When you are a Sikh you can not cut your hair. You have to wear a cloth on your hair which is called a turban. Darsh
